Barnard Griffin Merlot

Raised in the heart of Napa Valley, Rob Griffin grew up working in his uncle’s vineyards, and knew from a young age he wanted to be a winemaker, and attended University of California, Davis for fermentation sciences. After working around California for several years, Rob and his wife Deborah Barnard decided to head to Washington, which was still a relatively new place to grow wine. In 1983 they opened Barnard Griffin Winery, now a well established and award winning winery. This Merlot sources it’s fruit from 4 different vineyards Tiain the Yakima Valley, Red Mountains, and Columbia Valley, and is aged for 19 months in new and neutral oak barriques. Great depth of fruit, ripe plum, cherry, cassis, and a chocolate milk richness.
