After a successful  career in the audiovisual industry, Harold Thiel and his family founded Hidden Bench Estate Winery with the goal of producing Terroir-driven wines that could compete with with those of the old world. In 2017 Thiel decided it was time to have a bit of fun and hop on the natty train and launched the Rachis & Derma brand. This chardonnay was skin fermented and macerated for 45 days, and spent 6 months in neutral barrels, before being bottled with lees. This wine has body-ody-ody, and smells like an orange  marmalade dream.

Adamo Estate Winery ‘Legacy’ 2018  Viognier orange wine, St. David’s Bench, Ontario, Canada 11% ABV

Mono, Ontario may seem like a strange place to open a winery, but when Mario Adamo began looking for a place to plant vineyards, the hills of the Hockley Valley reminded him of his hometown of Calabria, and so he followed his instincts. These days Adamo Estate Winery continues to put farming first, using organic and biodynamic practices and employs a kickass winemaker- BC born Shauna White! This floral, funky lil guy is 70% whole cluster and was fermented on it’s skins for 30 days before a slow, gentle pressing. Try enjoying this with a cheese board, it’ll change your life!
